About 50-75 % of the world population suffer from this bacteria H.Pylori. It’s one of the few bacteria that can thrive in stomach acid. It can be contracted through saliva, plaque on teeth and poop. Infection can be spread through kissing, not thoroughly washing hands and transferring the bacteria hand to hand to others after a bowel movement, and sometimes via intercourse (H.Pylori can be present in the vagina). It’s more prevalent in developing countries and area of poor sanitation. It also might be spread through H. pylori-contaminated food and water. In the U.S., H. pylori bacteria are found in about 5% of children under the age of 10. No one is immune to it in the right conditions, however, it doesn’t cause illness in most people.
