Lentil and vegetable based healthy delicious Spinach Dal is jewel of every North Indian meal.Spinach Dal is perfect combination of spinach ,lentil,garlic and spices.

Ingredients(2 serving)


  • Tuar dal โ€“ 1/2 cup
  • Onion โ€“ 1/2 cup finely chopped
  • ย Fresh fenugreek leaves- 1 cup chopped
  • Garlic-3-4 cloves
  • Tomato โ€“ 1 cup finely chopped
  • Red chili powder โ€“ 1/2 tsp
  • Green chili-1 slit length wise
  • Salt โ€“ 1/2, tsp to taste
  • Whole red chili โ€“ 2
  • Bay leaf-1-2
  • Mustard seed-1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seed โ€“ 1/2 tsp
  • Cooking oil/clarified butter-2 tbsp

Method


Step 1 โ€“ Wash dal and pressure cook with 4 whistles then for 2-3 minutes on low flame. Keep it aside.

Step2 โ€“ Heat oil in nonstick pan and add mustard seed. When seed crackle add cumin seed,ย  whole red chili, bay leaf,garlic ,add chopped onions and cook it2-3 minutes till golden brown,add chopped fenugreek leaves cook 3-4 minutes till leaves completelyโ€ฆ
