Bye to Bile Balance Problems Especially While Detoxing

There are several of us that have started down the road of detoxifying our bodies and along with this great change in our lives, it can sometimes be a problem if we don’t know enough about how these lifestyle changes will effect us. If our bodies are not equipped to help the toxins to exit properly, these toxins can stay and make us feel worse, which is the opposite of our goal.

For example, most people will think in order to lose weight, we must avoid fat, however, some of us are awakening to the fact that all fats are not equal. Up until a year ago, I was unknowingly using Sunflower oil for cooking, baking and sometimes on my salads as a cheaper alternative to olive oil. I saved the olive oil for special meals and salads only. What a huge mistake. I may have contributed to problems in my health because most seed oils are potentially high in Omega 6 oil which is known to cause inflammation in the body and lead to liver problems. We of course are finding now the importance of fats high in Omega 3 such as olive oil, flaxseed oil, cod liver oil. Research is showing also that using butter from grass fed cows is much better for our health than many other fats as well; all in moderation of course.

Why is bile so important, especially as we detox

One of the very important functions of bile that bile salts help with is the removal of toxins in our bodies. Toxins are secreted into the bile and eliminated in feces. If we don’t have enough bile salts this can lead to toxic build up in the body. Now can you see how a “low fat” diet can lead to problems? Sounds good but we must have the healthy fats so that we can provide what the liver needs to make bile as well as what we need to absorb the fat soluble vitamins. Bile also helps in mediating microbial activity within the microbiome.

Symptoms that you may be low on bile

Often you can suspect that you have bile deficiency when you have difficulty with fat digestion, as well as when you experience few of the below described symptoms at the same time:

  • Your stomach area feels tight
  • Indigestion
  • Bloating
  • Difficulty having a bowel movement
  • Upper right side pain under the rib cage
  • You may experience nausea after eating foods high in fat
  • Difficult to flush down floating stools in your toilet
  • Pale, yellowish colored stools
  • Weight gain that is unexpected
  • Tired
  • Deficient in the fat soluble vitamins for example, A, D, E and K which can lead to adverse symptoms within the body
  • Jaundice (yellow eyes and skin)
  • Gallstones

So how can we naturally increase the bile? Check out this short video by Dr. Berg

Also just a reminder to consult your health care provider about any changes that you make. There are a few conditions in which one should not take bile salts:

  • Diarrhea
  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Bile Malabsorption Illnesses such as: Crohn’s Disease, Celiac’s Disease, SIBO (Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth)

Got Visitors That Won’t Leave?

Are you, a loved one or friend suffering from a change in personality, feeling very fatigued or weak most of the time, loss of appetite, weight loss and inadequate absorption of nutrients from food, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain or salt craving? If the answer is yes to the majority of these symptoms, it is worthwhile to get checked for parasites, particularly tapeworms.

Infection can come from larvae or tapeworm eggs in water or food, particularly in undercooked meat, pork or fish. After ingesting the water or food, the eggs hatch and begin to thrive in your intestines. The head of the tapeworm attaches itself to the intestinal wall and the body grows from the digested food of it’s host…..US!!! The technical names for the diseases that can arise from tapeworms, specifically, are taeniasis (from infected meat not cooked well) and cysticercosis (from ingestion of pork tapeworm eggs and when expelled in the stool the cycle may continue if the eggs and larvae get into soil to further contaminate fruits and vegetables, water, etc.)

Diagnosis:

Tell your doctor of your symptoms and your suspicions that you believe you may be infected with a parasite and they can do stool samples for eggs, larvae or pieces of the parasites. In addition, your doctor may ask for a blood test to be done to spot antigens, foreign substances that let your doctor know your body is trying to ward off an infection

How to prevent being infected? The WHO has the following recommendations:

  • Keep clean
  • Separate raw and cooked
  • Cook thoroughly (pork or beef should be cooked for at least 70 degrees Celsius)
  • Keep food at safe temperatures
  • Use safe water and raw materials
  • Proper hygiene practices – including hand rubbing and washing, especially before eating and after using the toilet – are important to prevent tapeworm infection.

What are natural ways of treating tapeworms or other parasites?

Please see this video by YouTuber Dr. Berg and also some dosages that follow that I have researched for each of the following natural substances in the video.

The following are links to other natural treatment sources for treatment of parasites. Should you decide to do any of these, please consult your healthcare provider first for their opinion. Traditional remedies may be deemed more suitable for you depending on the medical situation and your history. Traditional treatments usually include medications such as: Praziquantel (Biltricide) Albendazole (Albenza, mebendazole) Nitazoxanide (Alinia), which are toxic to the tapeworm like the natural remedies listed below:

-Raw carrots, raw papaya juice, pomegranate bark, pumpkin seeds, garlic and coconut (see specific doses): https://www.medindia.net/homeremedies/intestinal-worms-treatment.asp#:~:text=Carrots%20for%20Treating%20Intestinal%20Parasites,parasite%20attack%20in%20the%20future.

-Wormwood Extract- due to lack of research, no specific dose exists….see Healthline article for more info: https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/what-is-wormwood#dosage-safety

Use these for 4-6 weeks and it’s also good to do the treatment every 6 months thereafter.
