Black Seed Oil Review, Vegan Recipes & More

My Black Seed Oil Review

Many call Black Seed Oil ”Liquid Gold” and some have said that it cures everything except death. It was so valuable that the seeds were found in King Tut’s tomb, which gives you an idea of its value even in ancient times. I heard about this Blackseed Oil for the first time through a great friend but didn’t seek it out immediately. After finally looking into it and deciding to try it, I wanted to share some of my thoughts; but first, check out this short video review by a physician, Dr. Eric Berg.

As you may have heard in the above video, it is said to cure/ease so many things. I began using it as an anti-inflammatory and pain cure for arthritis, mainly for my back. Also, I believe that it is helping to protect my nerve cells against free radical damage (acting as an anti-oxidant/anti-aging). It causes cancer cells to commit suicide…..WHAT???🤷 It is in medical terms a somatostatin analog, which as you heard the doctor in the vid state was the only natural one that he could find. People pay thousands of dollars for cancer treatment. As far as concomitant and natural therapy for multiple ailments, this one has made number one on my list!!!🏆 STOCK THIS IN YOUR CABINET!!!

The only drawback I can report about this amazing oil is that I suffered from constipation and had to put more effort into staying hydrated. I currently am using only one teaspoon a day and plan to continue this natural remedy.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Lemon Together

Check out this quick video on ACV and Lemon together. A very powerful combination. It’s absolutely been life-changing. As a part of my daily detox, I also give it a thumbs up. 🏆 STOCK THIS IN YOUR CABINET!!!

I take 1-2 ounces of lemon, 2 tablespoons of ACV in 16-20 ounces of water. I have not yet seen any drawbacks from this natural therapy. 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

Tasty Vegan Cooking…Some of my Faves from my kitchen and from YouTuber Rachel Ama!

This change from a nearly meatless, animal-free diet has definitely been a learning process, but very rewarding. The main thing to remember is to GET STARTED and DON’T BE AFRAID to experiment in the kitchen. Try new things. I’m including a video below of Rachel Ama’s from her YouTube Channel. She has some amazing recipes. Also below I have posted a few pics of my own that my family and I enjoy daily. I do meal prep a few days out of the week to cut down on the cooking time and then begin to ”build a plate/bowl” so to speak. Remember to KEEP IT ALKALINE as much as possible and pack your meals with nutrients, BUY ORGANIC when possible and WASH produce, beans and grains.

Last but surely not least, I leave you with some meditation

A Psalm of David, Psalm 30:1-12 This was originally written by David to be sung at the inauguration of the Temple, though he knew it would not take place in his lifetime but of his son’s, Solomon. The Psalm entered into the siddur as a prayer to be said on Hanukka and was later adopted as a part of the daily prayers. It means a lot to me because of all the trials and tribulations me and my family have been through. In the midst of it all, pain and joy, we emerge feeling grateful and blessed. Most of all, we are transforming and growing daily. Stay blessed!

Psa 30:1 I exalt You, O יהוה, for You have drawn me up, And have not let my enemies rejoice over me.
Psa 30:2 יהוה my Elohim, I have cried to You, And You have healed me.
Psa 30:3 יהוה, You brought me up from the grave; You have kept me alive, from going down into the pit.
Psa 30:4 Sing praise to יהוה, You kind ones of His, And give thanks at the remembrance of His Set-apartness.
Psa 30:5 For His displeasure is for a moment, His delight is for life; Weeping might last for the night, But joy comes in the morning.
Psa 30:6 As for me, I have said in my ease, “Never would I be shaken!”
Psa 30:7 יהוה, in Your good pleasure You have made my mountain to stand strong; You hid Your face, and I was troubled.
Psa 30:8 I cried out to You, O יהוה; And to יהוה I prayed:
Psa 30:9 “What gain is there in my blood, When I go down to the pit? Would dust praise You? Would it declare Your truth?
Psa 30:10 “Hear, O יהוה, and show me favour; יהוה, be my helper!”
Psa 30:11 You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have torn off my sackcloth and girded me with gladness,
Psa 30:12 So that esteem might praise You and not be silent. O יהוה my Elohim, I thank You forever.

Oh Honey, How Sweet!

Since first posting this article about honey, I have used it a lot more to get through the Winter.  It has been amazing for colds, flu and allergy symptoms for my family as well as a sweetener to cut our use of refined sugar!  Hope you will incorporate it into your diet on a regular basis in order to be more healthy.

Honey is such an amazing food.  It has some very unexpected health benefits and because it tastes so good, we don’t mind using it.  Here are just a few things that you can benefit from by using honey:

Think about it as a natural way to give yourself a boost of ENERGY.

We all have experienced that run down feeling at some point in time if we are over doing it and have not gotten enough rest.  Honey is a wonderful source of carbs and an important component of our energy source for our bodies.  If you take honey, it will give you an immediate boost in your ability to get the task at hand done and hold on until you can get something that is even more sustaining into your body.  It decreases muscle fatigue for athletes and because of its natural sugars, you can use it as you exercise.

Here is how it works….two important properties of honey are that it contains glucose, which breaks down very quickly to give us immediate energy, and fructose, which breaks down over a slower period of time to help us to sustain the energy.  Honey is also known to stabilize blood sugar more as compared to other things we use to sweeten our food.

  • Take it in the morning as an energy booster in your tea or as a cleaning tonic on an empty stomach with the juice of half a lemon, a bit of warm water and a teaspoon of honey (see recipe below).

It not only works to cleanse your body as it works as an antimicrobial and antifungal, it also helps to boost your immune system, hopefully preventing illnesses.  It has very powerful antioxidant properties that give want to be diseases a PUNCH!!!

  • Honey has been said to help fight cancer.  See below references for more on this.
  • One of my favorite uses:  a natural cure for treating wounds due to its antiseptic properties.  Next time you or your little ones have an OWIE, try a bit of honey on it.  It also is known to work to help heal minor burns.  There is a brand that has been shown to be good for this in the link below called UMF Manuka.
  • If you have a sore throat or cough, try a drink of honey with warm water and lemon as mentioned above.
  • Got insomnia, try honey and warm milk before turning in.  This is an old remedy that has been proven to work by many grandmothers.  You can even use the honey in tea such as chamomile.  My favorite is green tea and honey.  It seems to have such a soothing effect.
  • Honey and vinegar have been reported by many to decrease their pain from arthritis and work as a home detox.
  • Honey and lemon are said to be good for weight loss

Overall, you can’t beat a food that has so many HUGE benefits and tastes so SWEET!

So next time you are low on energy, instead of reaching for that candy bar or granola bar, give honey a try.

Check out this recipe below:

Honey and lemonlemon-91537_1280

Mix one tsp of raw honey with the juice of about 2 tsp of lime or lemon in a glass of warm water.  Make sure not to use boiling water and definitely not tap water.  Try to use distilled or at least a good quality bottled water such as FUJI.  The pH of Fuji bottled water is reported to have a pH slightly above 8 which is healthier for us.  Use this drink in the mornings before eating anything. It is effective in detoxing the body and as a digestive aid after a particularly oily meal.  This along with exercise and a healthy diet will hopefully help you to shed the pounds naturally and make it a part of your lifestyle change.

Health Benefits of Tumeric

What is Tumeric                                   20160120_115848

Tumeric is a plant that is the main spice in curry.  Most people know it for its bitter taste and its bright orange color.  It has a sharp taste and smells like pepper.  In addition to its use to flavor and color curry, its root is also used in the making of medications.

In addition to its antiinfective properties (antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal) tumeric is also loaded with protein and dietary fiber.  It is packed with a host of vitamins and nutrients such as niacin, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, potassium, calcium, copper, iron, magnesium and zinc.  If that’s not enough, check out these additional uses.

Top 10 Claims to Fame

Prevents cancer

Helps to relieve inflammation such as in arthritis and has anti-oxidant properties to destroy free radicals.

Prevents liver disease

Controls diabetes

Prevents Alzheimer’s Disease

Reduces cholesterol level

My favorite- boosts the immune system

Can improve digestion

Heals wounds

Can help to maintain ideal body weight

Bonus:  I have found it helpful with lemon juice to controlling acne!

How does it work

Some components in tumeric may help to decrease swelling (inflammation).  Tumeric also has anti-oxidant properties which decrease free radicals that can damage the cells in our body.

Sources such as Web MD report that for most problems, tumeric has been used in doses of 500 mg twice a day and up to 500 mg four times a day.  As with everything, it is not without side effects, however, I would rather use something natural that has been around for ages instead of popping a pill.  Feel free to comment on your experience with this natural root.
